The Boston Tea Party was an event that occured on December 16 of 1773. King George lll and his advisor Lord Townshend needed to raise money to put into the dangerously low british coffers. Money was being spent faster than it could be brought in. The british population had no more money to give to the government, they were poor and getting poorer. Many were sent to prison because they couldn't pay anymore. They decide that the best way to come with money was taxing the goods of the colonists. After this the colonist got mad and decided it was no fair that the government taxed their goods, so they decided to dress up as mohawk indians and attack the ship were the tea was. They got into the boat and threw all the tea to the ocean, all the boxes were threw to the ocean and the named this event as the "The Boston Tea Party". The british king and parliament were furious. This act of disobedience was not acceptable.
